[Solved] No Broadcom wireless connection on Acer Aspire 9410Z laptop

Post by DarkHawk on Wed Oct 12, 2016 4:23 am

Recently installed ChaletOS 16.04.2 (32-Bit) onto an Acer Aspire 9410Z laptop. On which the Broadcom (BCM4311) wireless controller was not working. But managed to find the following solution which may work on multiple other Broadcom based wireless hardware.

If you want to find out which wireless controller your system has run the following terminal command:
Code:
lspci -nn | grep 0280

To install the Broadcom firmware and module support run the following terminal commands:
Code:
sudo apt-get remove bcmwl-kernel-source
sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer
sudo apt install b43-fwcutter

After this simply reboot the system.

The only good thing about Windows is that it never gives you any terminal illnesses.
Needless to say, Terminal illnesses are the only problem with Linux.
