After applying all updates lost plymouth and grub graphical interface

Post by 161209 on Tue Sep 13, 2016 5:44 am

I applied all updates on a clean install of ChaletOS 16.04.2 (I didn't pay enough attention when prompted by the process about the grub config), but now I've lost the blue ChaletOS spinner and grub is in plain text telling it is Ubuntu. How can I restore the default screens again?

this is just one idea: use a Chalet OS live installer disk, boot with option "try without installing", and then follow instructions in

http://chaletos.4rumer.com/t237-install-chalet-os-with-uefi

This will reset your grub and boot files. Topic not intended for that use but following these instructions will work.

Let me know if that idea works Smile

The only good thing about Windows is that it never gives you any terminal illnesses.
Needless to say, Terminal illnesses are the only problem with Linux.
