Share PostgreSQL Database Between Two ChaletOS 16.04 Based Machines

Post by WALLONN7 on Sat Jul 02, 2016 8:59 pm

Machine one - Client working as a Server

·         Postgresql Contrib installed and database called “stoq” created.

·         Localhost, user “mho”, password required and Port 5432.

·         Trade automation program installed.

Machine two – Client working as a Terminal

·         PostgreSQL common installed.

·         Same Trade automation program installed.

I can do all the usual procedures through machine one.
My request for help is to set up both machines in order to do everything necessary also through the machine two. There's a router between those machines.

I emphasize:

I’m novice user in Linux environment. And I ask that the answers are the most intelligible and practices.

In case you need more information, don’t hesitate to ask for!

Hi WALLONN7, I'm not a specialist on anything and certainly not PostgreSQL, but if no one else has anything to offer I could fire up a couple of virtual machines and try to help. I would just need to know exactly what you have installed on these machines and I will duplicate it and see if I can find a way to do what you want.

EDIT:
I just done a quick google and found THIS, it may help, apparently remote access is disabled by default so that may be the issue.

The only good thing about Windows is that it never gives you any terminal illnesses.
Needless to say, Terminal illnesses are the only problem with Linux.
