Hello danlelson,

Sorry but the information you provided for the first 2 is very vague and I am unable to understand what you are saying (I shared link with my friend and he couldn't get it either Sad )

For the first error you could give a screenshot as well as tell us if you are able to exit out of the error or not etc. For the global keyboard shortcut I'm not sure I understand what you are meaning by that.

To set Slimjet browser as default you can go on settings / preferred applications and change the default web browser to slimjet.

2 ways. first is using the prnt scrn key which launches screenshot but it seems that that's what's goofing :~ so if that doesnt launch screenshot then open start menu and type 'screenshot' once the error occurs. The built in screenshot utility (NOT Gnome-screenshot if that's also installed) has a special feature. When you take the screenshot you select 'host on imgur' then it actually gives you one text block called "BBcode for forums". That's exactly what you need! copy all text in 'BBcode for forums' and simply paste it here and it should turn into an image.

That's odd.
It took a snapshot of my default external monitor and laptop one.

Which leads me to another question...
Why does the clock appear on my laptop whereas the external monitor to the left has all the distro icons etc. but no clock?

NativeShot is a firefox extension which is fighting for control of the printscreen key. You have to decide whether to use the builtin screenshot application or the firefox extension. I'm not sure of the benefits of using NativeShot, but personally I use the built-in method for screenshots.
And if you want to edit your graphic before uploading somewhere you could use gimp which i consider to be a really good tool (and easy to use) The only thing I would mention though is that when you edit an image you don't simply save it like you would any other software, you have to export it, but if you want to save it as the existing filename then just press ctrl + e and it will overwrite your current image.

Thank you Dal.

Never heard of "NativeShot" before!

So, with regards to PrintScreen app., i paste it to clipboard, work it out with Gimp (can't find "crop" feature) then paste it back somehow to upload it to imgur (no export to that in Gimp)?

When you open gimp select the rectangle select tool from the toolbox (fist item on top row)
Then with the mouse, click and drag your rectangle to cover the area you want to crop to. Then select Image -> Crop to selection from the main window and your image will be cropped, then export the image to your pictures directory. When you create a post use the host an image option from post menu and then upload the file using the dialog box.
Hope this helps.

Dai

Edit: As for NativeShot, just go to Add-ons in firefox to disable it. Smile

Thanks again Dai!

Was trying to find crop option from the GIMP menu.

Have disabled Firefox extension.

Everything is cool now.

there's an easier way to do it:

With that tool select what you want to keep and hit return and you're done!
